Lessons in Inuktitut

I just came across these videos, explaining common English words, phrases, and expressions in Inuktitut.  The language seems so different, so new to my ears...very cool.  I'm hoping to take a class at some point, but those who know me know how well I pick up languages. ;) hahaha

Where's the beach?! :)

Thanks to Nunavut Tourism for these videos!

Slacking!

How is it that I'm not even a month into posting, and I'm already slacking?!  I'm really going to have to make this a point and a habit, otherwise life will go by and y'all won't know what the heck I'm doing on my adventure...

Since my last post, I packed up the things I hadn't donated/tossed/recycled, said some far too quick goodbyes, and flew to Nova Scotia.  I've had a few great days with my mama, and am now spending a few with my papa.  The busiest parts are soon over - I think I've got pretty much everything I planned on getting...  The last bits to track down include polar fleece (going to sew a few things), warm socks, an extra pair of mitts, and a new pair of dressy shoes (mine are falling apart, and lord knows I'll wanna dress up from time to time!).

OH - the bigger news...  I'm no longer assigned to a two-bedroom apartment with a roommate - they found me a single apartment!  I'm going to have my own place!!!  I'd have got along fine with a roomie, but there's nothing like having your own space...  Someplace to call your own, to make all the decisions - decide what goes where and how clean is 'clean'.  No arguing about dishes, no trying to remember who was the last one to get toilet paper...  Sure I'll have to pay for ALL of the internet bill, ALL of the cleaning supplies, but to me its worth being on my own.  The thought of it has made me a little more excited about this whole moving thing.

Having a hard time with some of my goodbyes, but - I have to live with my decision...  I knew these days would come.
